Extract Beer Recipes
-
Ridgehand Ale
- My first Recipe I did on my own. I am sure it was not the best,
but I enjoyed it as well as my friends. It was slightly hoppy with
a nice strong malt backbone to it. Sometime I should re-do it.
- Dads Dunkel Wit- A nice sweet caramelly
cross between a dunkel and a witbier. I gotta admit it was quite good.
I brewed it on Fathers day with my Dad.
- Parker Tribute Ale - Just a run
of the mill extract only ale, it was a quite Citrusy American Pale Ale.
- Farmhouse 1871- Silver
Medal winner at the 2005 Schooner Homebrew Championships. This
is the extract version of 501st Vader's Fist, not quite as chocolaty
but still an excellet extract chocolate stout.
- Yeast Beast Saison - An "American
Style" Saison. This one was peppery with some grapefruity citrus.
It was a nice summer combination.
- 3A's II American Amber Ale - This
was a huge hit for 2 4th of July party's in a row. It is a mildly hoppy
American Amber Ale, and something that Michelobe Amber Bock fans can
enjoy, but of course this is a better beer and had some almost licorice
notes on the end.
- Paddy O'malley's Irish Redeheaded Ale
- Again, this is an Americanized version of another classic style.
This one is an extract with grains Irish Red, with cascasde hops. A
dry malty low hop beer.
- Ancient Ale - A run of the mill extract
with grains Mild Ale. A nice everyday beer. Very balanced and non-offensive
to even the BMC drinker.
- Aloe Vera Ale - A neat experiment.
I used 8oz of pure aloe vera juice in this ale. It was actually pretty
damn good, and refreshing. It's a cool beer to brew in summer time and
joke around about it's ability to protect itself from skunking.

All Grain Beer Recipes
-
501st Vaders Fist Stout*
( brewsheet) - Runner up at
the 2007 Best of the Fest in Manitowoc WI. An extremly chocolatey
stout for the dark chocolate lover. This is one of my all time favorite
beers to make.
- Land Of Lincoln Pale Ale* (Brewsheet)-
3rd Place American Pale Ales at the 2007 Tittletown Open.
A nice clean pale ale with a soft bitterness, and in your face hop aroma
and flavor.
- Chandrila Common
(California Common) (Brewsheet) -
1st Place for Light Ales in the 2007 Tittletown Open.
A non "Northern Brewer" California common with some home roasted
malts. The home roasting is easy and adds another element of homemade
appeal to your beer. This beer has a very nice toasty malt quality to
it along with a stiff, but not sharp bitterness.
- Mos Eisley Pale
Ale (brewsheet) - A very good
Pale ale using the new Newport hops.
- Hand of Judgement Smoked IPA*
(Brewsheet) - A lightly smoked
American IPA....again with the home roasted malts, and home made caramel
malt. The Simcoe and Amarilo hops play so well with the 2lbs of smoked
malt. The malt in this beer easily stands up to the hops. Yet is clearly
an IPA.
- Brass Monkey Pale Ale (Brewsheet)
- My first APA where I used the unique "Hop Bursting" Method
where you add all the hops very late in the boil. The hop profile in
this beer was very floral and the malt just barely stood up to the hops.
Still the balance was good enough to easily make this one of my top
10 favorite beers I've made.
- Darth Caedus Fall Ale (Brewsheet)
- A nice fall ale. The home roasted darker malts give this beer a nice
soft roastyness, and just enough hops to balance the sweetness. The
addition of high quality maple flavor give this beer a nice woody maple
syrup background note. I think it's the perfect fall ale for my taste.
- Emperor's Hand IPA* (Brewsheet)
- Hand of Judgement was such a hit, I wanted to brew a non-smoked version
as well, this is it. In my opinion another winner, although a bit on
weak (ABV) side for an IPA, but hey then you can drink more!
